Ice Cream Parlour

We aim to create our first ice cream parlour and coffee shop in the heart of Aberdeen. Mackie's flagship parlour will be in the new Marischal Square development, in a 70 cover unit where we will create a new selection of up to thirty flavours of ice cream accompanied by our melted hot chocolate, artisan coffee and some other fresh local foods. We are proud of our North East heritage and we will work hard to make this a real positive addition to the centre of Aberdeen.

Rising Star Award

We are delighted that one of our commercial directors, Stuart Common,  was the winner of the ‘Rising Star’ Award 2016 in the annual Northern Star Business Awards last week. These awards recognise companies around the North-east for exceptional accomplishments across a range of fields, from energy to innovation, customer service to people development. Stuart first joined us on a student placement year – and now aged 30 is the youngest member of Mackie's management team.

A moo-sical experiment

We’ve been playing country music to our dairy cows – see our video about the experiment to see if it will affect their milk yield. The idea began when we agreed to be a sponsor to the North East's first Doricana Festival - coming up in Stonehaven on 8th October and everyone is now getting in the moo-d at the farm. Headliner and Singer/songwriter Colin Clyne gave a live performance to kick off the experiment with his Americana country music.
