Mackie's of Scotland

Local packaging for local produce

Mackie’s have invested over £1m in our own injection moulding machine to produce our own 1 and 2 litre ice cream tubs, which saves thousands of ‘food miles’ each year.

Before, we bought the tubs from Sweden and they had to be shipped over to Aberdeenshire by sea and road, a journey of about 1750 miles, which contributed to CO2 emissions.

Now the ice cream tubs only travel 200 metres from the moulding room, saving over 50,000 food miles per year, and making your favourite ice cream treat a much ‘greener’ indulgence.
