How we secure information. Our website is hosted with WP Engine – their GDPR statement is available on request.
We request the minimum detail of your email address, how you enjoy your ice cream and where you live. This is enough for us to be able to speak to you by email. We store as this on our mailing list of Friends of Mackie’s and we keep in touch by email. We hope to make it interesting.
The purpose is to inform you of new products and new offers and sometimes to ask for your views on our development work. We usually reward any efforts on response with the chance of some free products.
You can unsubscribe at any time – either from the link provided in one of our newsletters or by emailing mackies@mackies.co.uk. We do not share your email details with anyone else unless you have specifically given your permission for that.
Registrants should be over 18 years or be made with consent of a parent or guardian. However, parents can be assured that all information issued by Mackie’s will be family friendly.
We use Campaign Monitor to store email list and to send our newsletters. Campaign Monitor are GDPR compliant.
All emails are issued with a link providing the option to “unsubscribe” from the database. Any request to unsubscribe is automatically actioned by the campaign monitor system which deletes the personal data from the database on receipt of the request.
The Campaign Monitor email system tracks how many emails are opened on receipt – because the HTML emails include a tracking pixel, which is a tiny, invisible image, that is displayed when the subscriber opens your email. When that image is downloaded from the Campaign Monitor web server, the email is recorded as being opened.
See our general competition T&Cs or individual offers for offer specific terms.
Mackie’s make indulgent treats and we believe that Ice Cream and Chocolate can be a fun indulgence. We aim to provide a mix of fact and fun on our website and on our packs. We will sometimes create offers, competitions, promotions and surveys with a reward for completion. The content for each is different (and we are always pleased to hear any good suggestions for more).
We do ask for contact information when you enter the competition – because we need to be able to contact you if you win!
You will only receive up to one reminder email if we do not receive a response to your congratulations/winner email.
This type of information is only held as a temporary record until up to one month after the advertised close of the competition when we contact the winners and delete the information.
We may share non-personal survey information (created from the competition answers) with others, such as our retailers, but only in aggregate anonymous form, which means that the information will not contain any personally identifiable information about you.
Some offers are made in partnership with another company, this will be obvious on the entry form – where there may be a separate “opt in” question asking for your consent to hear more from that company. If, and only if, you do give this consent, we would then pass on your contact information to them.
A list of those who consent to hear more from the company specified in the offer will be downloaded and transferred to the partner with password access security.
Competition entry Data is recorded on the database for the website.
